Hello, I am Nate!
Hi there! My name is Nate Fakes (yes, that really is my last name). I’m a professional syndicated cartoonist with King Features who resides in Southern California.
My daily gag comic, Break of Day, is published in over 80 newspapers. Additionally, I have created comics for MAD Magazine, Scholastic, and major greeting card companies. I was also a full-time cartoonist for Red Bull. Plus, I’m a published graphic novelist, with my debut book, A Fade of Light.
I love teaching art, and I wanted to create the ultimate course on how I approach creating my gag comic using an iPad and the Procreate software.
This entertaining course is a journey into how I do what I do – from the foundation of the creative process, through writing, rough drafts, final comics, and ultimately, distributing them. I even get into how to sell your comics in today’s current environment.
It’s a chance to learn from a syndicated cartoonist (me!) and take you into my world, so that, ultimately, you can create your successful gag cartoon.
